Clare Haddow qualified as a registered general nurse in 1982. In 1984 she qualified in occupational health and she has gained experience and expertise in occupational health nursing from a variety of organisations – these include John Smiths Brewery, BBC North, Wincanton Distribution, BUPA Hospital Bristol, BBC South, Lloyds TSB and the Environment Agency. She set up Clare Haddow Occupational Health Specialists in 2002 offering occupational health advice to small to medium sized businesses initially within a 30 mile radius of Bristol.

In the last ten years Clare Haddow Occupational Health Specialists have provided services to:

Clare is a committed OH specialist and has developed procedures and policies for organisations based on an analysis of their needs.

She has set up new, and expanded existing, OH services for business sites and training courses across the U.K.

She has been involved in meeting the training needs for organisations and developed courses on:

  • Stress Awareness for Employers
  • Manual Handling Training Course
  • Display Screen Equipment assessors

The knowledge she gained from her training in Health Education has allowed her to offer health promotion activities including large road shows to key business sites.

Her aim is to provide an analysis of a company’s OH status in order to provide a comprehensive, proactive, cost effective strategy to enable her customers to maximise profits and optimise health benefits for employees.

Occupational Health Nurse Advisor 

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Susanne is an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, who has enjoyed working in the occupational health field in the South West of England since 2009.

Susanne has a medical background as a nurse and trained in her native Germany. She later went on to gain a BA in Occupational Health Practice Nursing from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. She is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Royal College of Nursing.

Before specialising in occupational health, Susanne worked as a nurse on intensive care units and surgery wards in both the UK and Germany. She has also worked as part of a number of emergency overseas missions providing medical support with the German Red Cross in Chad, in Indonesia and in 2005 she worked in Sri Lanka as part of a post-tsunami mission.

Susanne has been a member of the South West Occupational Health Nurses Group since 2013, and is delighted to now have the opportunity to contribute to the group’s efforts through her new role as vice-chair.

In addition to her occupational health work, Susanne is a Reiki master and teacher and a fully-qualified Bach Flowers practitioner.
